What God has to say is more important than what we have to say. We believe the Bible is inerrant, infallible, and inspired—the very words of God. This means it is without error, unfailing, and divinely given. The Bible must be carefully studied, rightly interpreted in light of its original context, faithfully applied, and joyfully obeyed.
Psalm 119:10–11; 2 Timothy 3:14–17 -
We believe in the Holy Trinity. God is one, yet eternally exists in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—each co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and sharing the same divine attributes. God is transcendent yet personal, eternal yet present, all-powerful, all-knowing, holy, just, and loving.
Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; John 14:10, 26 -
We believe Jesus is God, Lord, Messiah, and Savior of the world. He was born of the virgin Mary, fully man yet never ceasing to be fully God. He lived a sinless life, died a sacrificial death for our redemption, and rose bodily from the grave on the third day. All who place their faith in Him receive eternal life. All who live for Him find the greatest peace and deepest meaning.
Isaiah 7:14; John 1:1–2; Luke 1:35; Philippians 2:5–8; Acts 2:14–36; Romans 3:24–25; Hebrews 9:23–28 -
We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, regenerates believers, baptizes them into the body of Christ, and seals them until the day of redemption. He is the divine teacher who enables believers to understand Scripture and walk in obedience.
Ephesians 1:17–18; 5:18; 1 John 2:20, 27; John 16:8–11; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:12–14; 2 Corinthians 3:6; Ephesians 1:13–14 -
We believe the hope of Jesus is for everyone. That hope is most clearly seen when believers actively share God’s love. Hope is our mission. City Hope exists to partner with you to bring this hope to your friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers.Mark 1:14–18; Romans 1:1–17

We believe all people are created in God’s image, and He desires a personal relationship with everyone. Yet because of sin, humanity is separated from God. Out of His great love, God sent His Son, Jesus, to die for our sins so that anyone who believes in Him will receive eternal life and a restored relationship with God. Heaven and Hell are real eternal destinations.
Our mission is to share the gospel so that people may be made right with God and spend eternity with Him. Salvation is found in Christ alone, by grace alone, through faith alone—a saving faith that places full trust in Jesus and turns from sin.
Romans 3:23; 5:8; 6:23; 10:9–10; John 3:16–17; Ephesians 2:8–10; John 14:6 -
We believe the Church is made up of all people who have become genuine believers in Jesus Christ. The Church is not merely a religious institution or denomination, but the body of Christ, existing to worship God, glorify Him, and make disciples of all nations.
1 Corinthians 12:12–27 -
We believe baptism is the first step of obedience after someone places their faith in Jesus for salvation. It is a symbol of Christ’s death and resurrection and a public testimony of faith. Baptism does not earn salvation but proclaims it.
Matthew 3:13–17; 28:19–20 -
We believe communion is a sacred celebration and solemn reminder of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. It is to be observed by believers with reverence and gratitude.
John 6:51–57; Luke 22:19–20; 2 Peter 1:4; 1 Corinthians 11:25 -
Item descriptionWe believe God designed marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman. Marriage and family honor God when built on sacrificial love. Children are to be raised in the fear and instruction of the Lord.
